Kristin Windley

Kristin Windley is an education attorney who advises and represents school districts on a wide range of legal issues affecting K–12 education. Her practice encompasses special education, student services, pupil discipline, governance, compliance with state and federal education laws, and risk management. She is committed to helping educational institutions navigate complex legal challenges while supporting their mission of providing high-quality educational opportunities for all students.

Drawing on her extensive background in child advocacy and education law, Kristin provides practical, solutions-oriented legal counsel that enables school leaders to make informed decisions, minimize legal risk, and maintain compliance with evolving legal requirements. She regularly advises administrators and educators on matters arising under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, student records and privacy, and other state and federal laws governing public education. She also has experience serving as a mediator and facilitating alternative dispute resolution (ADR) processes to help parties resolve disputes efficiently and collaboratively.

Before representing school districts, Ms. Windley devoted her practice to advocating for children in education, juvenile justice, and child welfare matters. This unique perspective provides valuable insight into the legal and practical challenges facing students, families, and educational institutions, allowing her to develop balanced, effective solutions that serve both school communities and the students they educate.
