Jim Sanft

Attorney at Law

Mr. Sanft has more than a decade of experience representing school districts and charter schools in special education and student-related matters. He advises local educational agencies regarding compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Section 504, the California Education Code, and related regulations.

He regularly appears on behalf of clients at IEP team meetings, resolution sessions, mediations, and due process hearings before the California Office of Administrative Hearings. He also supports clients with complaints filed with the California Department of Education and the Office for Civil Rights.

Mr. Sanft focuses on resolving disputes and helping educational teams develop legally compliant programs that address students’ individual needs. He also trains administrators, educators, and service providers on special education compliance and best practices.
