Mr. Oetting is the newest addition to the firm’s litigation department. Prior to joining the firm at the beginning of 2026, he served as a prosecutor for the State of California for over thirty years, focusing primarily on appeals, writs and trials. He began his career as a law clerk to Chief Justice Malcolm Lucas at the California Supreme Court before turning to two large law firms where he worked on complicated securities fraud and RICO matters. He has also taught as an adjunct professor for legal research and writing at Thomas Jefferson School of Law. Mr. Oetting has tried over two dozen cases and argued over 300 appeals in both federal and state courts.
When Mr. Oetting is not busy litigating, he enjoys swimming, spending time with his wife and children, and writing. He is the author of two published novels, and a third German-language novel, Pascals Letzte Wette, is anticipated to be released in early 2027.
