Ms. Blaauw manages and leads the firm’s litigation department and general counsel group. Ms. Blaauw has been a member of HLG since 2013 and her practice is primarily focused on the representation of school districts and educators in state and federal litigation. Ms. Blaauw’s litigation practice focuses on the following areas: personal injury, negligent supervision, dangerous condition, torts, breach of contract, and class actions. In her general counsel capacity, Ms. Blaauw advises clients regarding risk management, pre-litigation matters, Government Claims Act, Title IX, Brown Act, Public Records Act, Uniform Complaint Procedures, and student discipline.

Ms. Blaauw is well-respected by both clients and opposing counsel alike. She zealously advocates for her clients while thinking outside of the box to obtain the best outcome for her clients. When she isn’t practicing law, Ms. Blaauw is running, baking, and spending time with her family.
